[SEAT] [Leon 5F] 2018 DSG strange shifting

    Goedemiddag, people

I have a Seat Leon 2018 DSG 1.5 150hp, 17000 mileage. I noticed one thing, while accelerating and changing gears 50% of time RPM goes up about 300-400 rmp immediately before shifting. For example, shifting supposed to be at 2000rpm, but before shift RPM goes up to 2300 very quickly. Any ideas what is this? Maybe DSG reset could help? Or maybe it is normal? I hope you can understand what i mean.

    Looking forward to hear.

This gearbox DQ200 is well known and famous regarding this sort of failure.
Probably it is a combination of wear of the 2 clutchplates and too low hydraulic plate pressure.
I would take it to a DSG specialist for diagnose and eventual repair and after repair I recommend a DSG software tuning that will prevent this sort of issues.

Maybe it's still in waranty and the dealer would be an option.

Depends if you have an extended Seat warranty.
In the Netherlands they offered then an extended warranty of 4 years so I do not know if this also applies to the UK.

Thank you for your answer.. Yes I still have two and a half years of warranty. BTW I live in the Netherlands, so i hope there will be no problems with warranty at service. Also one more question, also when I accelerating a bit faster, 3500 rpm and etc, i feel sometimes that shifting is not smooth. Feels like rpm are not matching perfectly. Maybe it is because of problem that u mentioned earlier?

The warratany is valid in whole the EU so too in the Netherlands.
Advise is to go asap to the dealer and explain the problems and point them to the warranty.
Then wait for their response how they want to handle it.

    Good afternoon,

So I have some news after few weeks. I went to the service a few times. First time they did not found anything, so they resetted gear box. For one day problem was solved, but at the next day problem appeared. I went to the service again, they found that clutch was slipping, so they changed to a new one. I picked up my car, started to drive and immediately noticed that RPM still rising, but not that much as before, PLUS strange sound appeared, very quiet clickings, but very fast and sometimes each 7-15 seconds, a louder click. I went to them again, they found that in the clutch there was a too big free space inside, so they fixed it and also reinstalled gear box software to a newest one. I picked up my car, started to drive, and immediately noticed that problem was did not solved. The clicking were the same(maybe a bit quieter). I went to them again, one guy drived with me, he couldn't hear the quiet clickings(But I could hear them at that time) but he was able to hear the louder one. We went back to the service, they spoked to each other, and a the end they said that they have no idea whats happening.. They checked everything, and according to them everything works just fine. So they made a contact with factory about it.. After a few days a guy called me about it.. And he said the same thing.. According to them it is working fine.. They spend a lot of time to checking this car, and found anything wrong.. So any ideas what should I do about it? Because if professionals cannot find problem, then nobody will?.... Those clicking appearing ONLY when i press acceleration pedal.

Also question to SEAT drivers... Maybe those RPM risings are normal thing? 100-200RPM before shift(not every gear). It happening also with manual shifting with pedals at steering wheel.

I hove you can understand what i wanted to say.

Did you went to a Seat Dealer? Maybe you can advise them to contact a specialist about DSG, like TVS Engineering in Varsseveld.
A lot of VAG dealers talk with TVS when they cannot solve the problems with DSG. I also went to TVS for my DSG, unfortunattely for own costs, but these guys know everything about DSG, they are better know as 'DSG Dokter".

Schijnt ook erg goed te zijn met DSG.

Well as I read the dealer isn't much helpful with your problem.
I do not know if it is a company (lease) car or your own.
When it is your own I would advise a visit to TVS-Engineering (DSG-dokter) as proposed by another member.
At least they can give you a diagnose at little costs and then return with that diagnose to your dealer.
Dealers nowadays are notoriously famous for only reading faults and often don't have the technical knowledge to interpreting a complaint in a technical way by thorough investigating.
