SEAT Leon
Geteste uitvoering: Seat Leon 1.6TDI 'Reference', LHD
Link naar test: http://www.euroncap.com/results/seat/leon/494.aspx
Adult occupant
The passenger compartment of the Leon remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the front seat passengers. Seat showed that a similar level of protection would be available to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. The Leon scored maximum points in the side barrier test, with good protection of all body regions. In the more severe side pole impact, protection of the chest and abdomen was adequate and that of the head and pelvis was good. The seat and head restraint provided good protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end impact.
Child occupant
The Leon scored maximum points based on readings from the child dummies in the dynamic tests. In the frontal impact, forward movement of the head of the 3 year dummy, sat in a forward facing restraint, was not excessive. In the side impact, both dummies were properly contained by the protective shells of their restraints, minimising the risk of head contact with parts of the car's interior. The passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing restraint to be used in the front passenger seat. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. The dangers of using a rearward-facing restraint in that seating positions without first disabling the airbag is clearly and permanently indicated.
Pedestrian
The bumper scored maximum points for the protection it offered to pedestrians' legs. However, the front edge of the bonnet was marginal or poor in all areas tested. The bonnet offered good protection in most areas likely to be struck by a pedestrian's head.
Safety assist
Electronic stability control is standard equipment and met Euro NCAP's test requirements. There is a standard-fit seatbelt reminder on the driver and front passenger seats. A driver-set speed warning system is available on the Leon but it was not assessed by Euro NCAP as it is not standard on all variants.
SEAT Toledo
Geteste uitvoering: Skoda Rapid 1.2TSI 'Ambition', LHD
Link naar test: http://www.euroncap.com/results/seat/toledo/495.aspx
The Seat Toledo has been scrutinised by Euro NCAP and the car is structurally identical to the Skoda Rapid and has the same interior fittings. Seat has informed Euro NCAP that the Toledo also has the same levels of safety equipment as the Rapid. Accordingly, Euro NCAP believes that the star rating of the Skoda Rapid can also be applied to the Seat Toledo
Adult occupant
The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. The car scored maximum points for its protection of the front passenger. Readings for both front seat dummies indicated good protection of the knees and femurs and it was demonstrated that a similar level of protection would be available to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. Maximum points were scored for protection of the driver in the side barrier test. In the more severe side pole test, protection of most body regions was good and that of the chest was adequate. The seat and head restraint provided marginal protection against whiplash in the event of a rear-end collision.
Child occupant
Based on dummy reading in the dynamic crash tests, maximum points were scored for protection of the 3 year infant. Forward movement of that dummy in the frontal impact test was not excessive and, in the side impact, both dummies were properly contained by their restraints, minimising the likelihood of head contact with parts of the car's interior. The passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing restraint to be used in that seating position. However, information provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag is not clear and the system was not rewarded. There is inadequate warning of the dangers of using a rearward-facing restraint without first disabling the airbag.
Pedestrian
The bumper provided good protection for pedestrians' legs and scored maximum points. In most areas where a child's head might strike the bonnet, good protection was provided but the protection was predominantly poor in those areas likely to be struck by an adult's head.
Safety assist
Electronic stability control is standard equipment. All Toledos have a driver and front passenger seatbelt reminder as standard. There is no rear seatbelt reminder or speed limitation device.
